Meet Edna Lovelace Gaston |
A native of North Carolina, Edna began backyard gardening in her hometown of Wilson over 50 years ago. She then experienced gardening on a windowsill in an apartment, in pots on a very crowded condo balcony and finally on several acres at a lake. She has now downsized to a quarter acre in Fuquay-Varina where she is supervised by her two dogs and two cats. Edna's main gardening interests are herbs, miniature roses, scented geraniums, pollinator gardens, vegetables, container gardens, composting, African Violets and learning more about orchids. She has attended many educational opportunities including certification from the National Arboretum and the Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center. She has written many gardening articles, conducted numerous classes and workshops plus coordinated several conferences. She has been active in and officer for several local and state gardening associations, including serving for many years on the Board of GAONC. Edna is a regular contributor to the GAONC member's newsletter. Edna's GAONC Articles: Herb of the Month: Basil, May 2024 Elevate Your Garden, August 2024 |
