About this Presentation:

Light matters in more ways than many gardeners realize. Understanding how light impacts our gardening involves far more than knowing whether a plant grows best in sun or shade. The light requirements of plants vary not only throughout a plant’s life cycle, but also depending on our interactions with the plant. This highly interactive session will be an opportunity to explore the nature of plants, what they want in terms of light, and how we can make that happen. Together, we’ll examine plant needs, how light is measured and, more importantly, how to apply these concepts in practical ways. Our discussion, which will be guided significantly by your questions, will focus on concepts that can be applied to all of your gardening activities, whether your passion is houseplants or creating and sustaining a large garden or landscape. You’ll come away with a new framework for thinking about light—one that you can apply to virtually every gardening situation, indoors and out. Understanding light helps us make better gardening decisions and grow healthier, more resilient plants.

The presentation will be recorded for

members to view later in our Video Library.
