Andy’s presentation will cover topics that are on the minds of everyday people who love monarchs, such as the current status of the North American monarch butterfly population, what to do and not do in your own garden, and he will discuss some misinformation around monarchs, which can lead people to actually cause harm to the species.

About Our Speaker:

Andy is a research scientist with expertise in all things animals and migration, but especially the world-famous monarch butterfly, which Andy has been studying for 25+ years. Andy’s research on monarchs has included work on their morphology, physiology, their population status, disease levels, and especially on the factors affecting their fall migration success.
His work with monarchs has been featured in the New York Times, NPR, Associated Press, National Geographic, and more.
