About this Presentation:
Barbara will speak to us about threats to our birds such as climate change, loss of habitat, window collisions and lack of insects. Then she will focus on what individuals can do in their yards and their communities to help our birds through local actions. Learner outcomes: How to improve habitat, Local initiatives such as Lights Out and Leave Your Leaves campaigns, eliminating pesticides, window collisions and predator threats.
The presentation will be recorded for
members to view later in our Video Library.
About Our Speaker:
Barbara Driscoll is past President of the New Hope Audubon Society and Eno River Association. She helped create and is the Co-Chair for New Hope Audubon’s Bird-Friendly Habitat Committee which promotes creating bird-friendly habitats. She retired in 2013 after being a Physical Scientist for 27 years with the Environmental Protection Agency. Barbara is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys watching birds, butterflies, plants and animals around the world. Her hobbies include photography, walking her three hounds and removing invasive plants.
