About Our Speaker
Gena Moore is the Organic Research Coordinator for Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA). Based at CFSA's Lomax Research and Education Farm in Concord, NC, she oversees organic vegetable crop research and coordinates on-farm programming. Gena is a small farm owner herself, growing vegetables, flowers, and raising sheep, chickens, and horses.
About CFSA's Lomax Research and Education Farm:
The Elma C. Lomax Research and Education Farm, located in Concord, NC, is a certified organic farm. It was launched in 2009 by the Cabarrus County government and Cooperative Extension as a training ground for new farmers and has evolved into a research and education farm managed by Carolina Farm Stewards Association.
Lomax provides a Student Outdoor Immersive Learning (SOILLS) program and a Farmer-in-Training program. Their research programs support the needs of organic farmers in the Southeast.
